Why 640

Our company was founded on the principles, knowledge and experience of transforming organizations to increase effectiveness, improve efficiency, reduce costs, and inspire innovation. Collectively, what we have put together has continually achieved operational excellence through strategic planning, infrastructure design/redesign, policy modification, process improvement, human capital and change management as they result from rapid integration acquisition concepts, transformational concept building and normal operating procedures.
 
We help organizations use strategic concepts, technology and new ideas to enhance quality of service. Our holistic solutions combine cutting-edge technology concepts and hands-on entrepreneurship, resulting in innovative services, ventures, and products. Although our company experience to date flows from the Founder’s military and commercial careers of supporting several Federal Government Agencies (DoD, VA, State Dept, etc..), this company is built on the concept of servant leadership and assisting the greater good well beyond single person’s experience.

Wade Jost is the Founder, Chief Executive Officer and President of 640 Acres. He is leading the Company to achieve its focus on technology entrepreneurship, venture creation, and commercialization of future capabilities.

Wade graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Management. He spent 20 years in the U.S. Army as an Infantry Officer for 10 years before transferring to the Acquisition Corps. He holds a Master of Science Degree in Business Administration from George Mason University and Science & Technology Commercialization from the University of Texas at Austin.

​Since retirement from the Army in 2006, Wade has continued to serve his country as a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business entrepreneur.
Wade combines military operational and acquisition expertise with executive leadership experience in the commercial sector. He has been instrumental in developing multiple high visibility programs and organizations. These include:

  • Leading the Army’s efforts at transforming the standard acquisition system into a rapid and responsive capability as part of the Army’s Rapid Equipping Force (REF). 
  • Developing the Joint IED Defeat Organization’s (JIEDDO) Technology & Integration Team and running it for its first two years of existence. 
  • Heading R&D for on demand energy reduction efforts and developing alternative energy capabilities for the DoD’s Power Surety Task Force (PSTF).
  • Supporting the VA as a Business Process Engineer in maturing their Employee Engagement Services (EES).
  • Co-founding the Red Gate Group and helping to grow the company from inception to a $15M enterprise.

​Through servant leadership we focus on the growth and well-being of our people and the communities to which we belong. We share in the ability to put the needs of others first and helps people develop and perform as highly as possible. Recent community efforts:

The Johnny Mac Soldiers Fund provides scholarships to veterans and military family members, especially to the children of our nation’s fallen or disabled. 640 Acres contributes to the Johnny Mac scholarship fund.

The Senase Project supports communities by speaking for those without a voice, stand up for the forgotten and bring hope to those who have lost it. This organization believes in three areas of development for projects. Healthy Minds, Healthy Bodies, and Healthy Hearts.
